My name is Kalmia Amanita!
I began painting garage kits in 2015 after collecting pre-painted PVC figures for several years. It all started because a character I loved didn’t have any scale figures, but they did have a garage kit that I found secondhand online. In 2019 I began taking commissions under a different alias. And, in 2021 I started streaming on Twitch as Kalmia as a vtuber based on the Eastern Screech owl. In 2026 I attended the first WonderFestival US during Momocon and started producing my own kits.
I want to share what I love about garage kits. They were born out of a love of characters and art and designed to be shared with fellow hobbyists. Sculptors and painters bring characters from shows they love or art pieces that inspire them. I am grateful to be part of it.

Why am I a vtuber?
Because it’s fun! Being a vtuber has been a very rewarding experience. As Kalmia I have collaborated with so many talented artists to bring this character to life. Kalmia Amanita is an independent, virtual entertainment personality. She is a character, but all streaming, branding, communication, and direction is managed by one woman.
Like vtubing, garage kits have given me the opportunities to work with artists I admire to bring my own character and other characters to life.
