Honestly, I bought this kit because I went on a spending spree after Summer 2017 WonFes. I was browsing Yahoo Auctions and it caught my eye. In the fall of 2019 I finished a rather frustrating project and was dealing with a lot of stress in my professional life; painting a more simple kit seemed like a good, easy escape.
The prep was relatively simple for an original cast. Some minor seam lines and some small bubbles, but overall the prep was done quickly. Because this is an original character it allowed some freedom to try some new techniques I saw on twitter:
First spray a coat of purple, coat of smoky/clear black, and then highlight with as much blue shimmer as you like.
I wanted to add tan lines (because they are the best). Overall the skin was painted with a warmer mix of clear flesh tones (Gaia 059, 060 mixed with 50% flat clear paint). And drops of Gaia 136 and a drop or two of 046 to make it a bit darker.
Once the more pale tone was painted I masked where the tan would be begin. I used putty to mask to get a softer edge.
When painting sheer tights I paint the skin tone, shade with a mix of clear brown/black, spray an all-over coat of clear brown/black, and spray a “satin” clear coat that’s 50/50 gloss and flat clear coat.
